Product Description

Automated Solid Phase Extraction for PFAS in Drinking Water

The EconoTrace® Parallel Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) System is a fully automated, modular solution designed to enhance laboratory productivity by streamlining PFAS/PFOS extraction from drinking water. Capable of processing up to 8 samples simultaneously, this system integrates extraction, drying, and concentration into a single step, reducing manual intervention, human error, and contamination risks.

Designed as an economical and scalable platform, the EconoTrace system automates traditional manual SPE techniques and replaces outdated liquid-liquid extraction and semi-automated instruments, significantly improving workflow efficiency, consistency, and regulatory compliance.

Simply load samples onto the system and start the automated process. The system loads samples at a controlled flow rate onto an SPE cartridge, applies nitrogen drying, and then elutes analytes directly into the SuperVap Concentrator, where the extract is concentrated to its final volume in a 15 mL centrifuge tube—ready for analysis.

By integrating multiple sample preparation steps into one automated process, the EconoTrace minimizes solvent use, eliminates glassware, and maximizes throughput, ensuring the highest quality results in the shortest possible time.

Benefits

  • Time-Saving: Accelerates sample preparation, enabling labs to process more samples in less time.
  • Cost-Effective: Reduces labor costs and consumable usage with its streamlined operation.
  • Reliable Results: Delivers consistent extraction efficiency, ensuring reproducible results across multiple runs.
  • Ease of Use: Intuitive interface and minimal training requirements make it accessible to all users.

Key Features:

Key Features:

  • Modular and Expandable Design: The system’s modular architecture allows laboratories to start with a two-sample configuration and expand up to eight samples as throughput demands increase.
  • Supports Key Regulatory Methods: Common SPE methods for water samples include EPA Method 537.1, EPA Method 533
  • Automated Sample Processing: Automates existing manual SPE techniques, replacing older manual liquid-liquid extraction methods and outdated semi-automated instruments, thereby reducing hands-on time and minimizing human error.
  • Integrated Workflow: Combines extraction, drying, and concentration into one seamless process, providing a truly automated total sample preparation solution.
  • Positive Pressure Fluid Delivery: Utilizes positive pressure to ensure consistent flow rates and prevent cartridge clogging, leading to reliable and reproducible results.
  • User-Friendly Interface: Features an intuitive touch screen interface capable of storing up to 100 methods, eliminating the need for an external computer and simplifying method development and execution.
  • Compact Footprint: Designed to occupy minimal laboratory space without compromising functionality, making it suitable for laboratories with limited bench space.

The EconoTrace® Parallel SPE System is engineered to meet the evolving needs of environmental testing laboratories, offering a robust and scalable solution for PFAS analysis in drinking water. Its advanced automation capabilities not only enhance efficiency but also ensure the accuracy and reliability of analytical results.
